Tracking the processing status of interlibrary loan requests
Delivery time: approximately 10 days
Inter-library loan pickup
Items not collected within 10 days will be returned to their library of origin. Any costs incurred are to be borne by the library users.
Electronic delivery of articles
Copies of articles for non-commercial use are delivered electronically. You will receive a link via email which allows you to download the PDF documents. The download link expires after 40 days. After downloading the file your account will be charged. Payments can be made at our payment terminal.
Pickup of paper copies
Paper copies will only be supplied in exceptional cases. Copies will be held for eight weeks at the circulation desk or at the counter of the selected pick-up location and handed out on presentation of your library card.
Copies of articles that are not collected will be destroyed. Any costs incurred are to be borne by the library user. Fees can be paid at the payment terminal.
Loan period
- The loan period of an item is usually 1 month; please pay special attention to any other loan periods! The end of the loan period is noted on the loan receipt and can be checked at any time in your library account in the catalogue.
- Special conditions of use (e.g. no copying, no reading room use, no renewals, etc.) must be observed.
- Barcode labels and insert labels (e.g. “use only in the reading room”) must not be removed and have to be returned with the item.
Extension of loan periods
- It might be possible to extend the loan period via your library account by the end of the loan period if the lending library allows this.
- If the loan period cannot be extended in this way, the title must be returned by the end of the loan period to avoid fees.
- The book can be recalled at any time during the extension period.
- Reminder fees will be charged for late returns.
Notifications of the arrival of interlibrary loan items or queries that may arise during the processing of interlibrary loan requests will be sent by e-mail if a valid e-mail address is known to the library. Users without an e-mail address must regularly enquire in person at the lending desk or at the counter of the selected pick-up location..
