Stack Orders
Media marked as “available for order” in the catalog are in the stack and can be ordered via the catalog. We will retrieve your ordered media from our stack. You will receive an email as soon as the media are ready for you.
You can pick up media with the status “available for loan” from the shelves yourself for borrowing.
Branch Orders
You can order books from the following branches online via the catalog and pick them up at the selected library:
- Main Library (HB)
- Science and Technology Branch Library (TNZB)
- Economics and Social Science Branch Library (WSZB)
- Educational Science Branch Library (EZB)
You will receive an email as soon as the book is ready for you. Please pick up the books as soon as possible.
Please note: Books must be returned to the same location where they were borrowed!
Ordering Media from Closed Stacks and Branch Libraries
How do I order media from the stack or from other branch libraries?
When accessing the catalog, you must select the location where you would like to pick up the ordered media. After researching the literature, select your preferred medium by clicking on it. Then, under the sub-point “Copies,” click “Order.” Enter your login data. After selecting the delivery location (for example, Reading Room or Service Counter), the catalog will show you when the item will be ready for pickup.
How to get the literature I found in the catalog?
Each result in the catalog shows the options available for borrowing and ordering. The most important options are:
- Available for loan: These are items that you can pick up from the shelves yourself. After picking them up, you can check them out at a circulation desk.
- For order: These are items that are stored in stacks or at other locations. To obtain these items, you must first order them. After a certain amount of time, which will be displayed during the ordering process, they will be ready for you to pick up at the location you chose. Please see the notes regarding interlibrary loan.
- Not for loan: These are materials that must be present at the library at all times and cannot be borrowed. These materials can only be read in the reading room. You may be able to copy some pages out of them if you would like to.
- Available for loan: See which branch has it via “Copies” in the detailed view. This applies to media that is neither available at your chosen location nor possible to order to your location. Therefore, you must visit the location of the media yourself.
