November 10: Renovation of reading room 5 in the Main Library completed

Christian Zens, Chancellor of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, reopens the newly remodelled reading room 5 in the Main Library on Friday. Students will find space for comfortable and concentrated work in small and large working groups. From the ceiling to the walls to the floor, the reading room has been completely renovated and extensively electrified.
Up to 89 people can be accommodated in five different work zones. Small booths are available for video conferencing, for example, while six to eight people can work together in larger booths with group monitors, a round couch is ideal for discussions and sofa groups with tables by the window are perfect for working in pairs. In an open-plan area with a large whiteboard, people can meet and exchange ideas on a project.
The renovation and remodelling of reading room 5 was financed by student grants.
