Starting next week, the largest group work area in the Main Library, Reading Room 5, will be modernised for you. Flooring and electrics will be renewed. In addition, a range of new furniture options will provide space for learning, collaboration and project work for groups of different sizes.

Unfortunately, reading rooms 5 and 6 will therefore have to remain closed from July 31st until presumably the end of October.

The reference collections from the subject areas of chemistry, pharmacy, biology, medicine, technology, and sport – which were located in reading room 5 up until now – will be relocated to reading room 4. All books located in reading room 6 (geography, mathematics, natural sciences in general and physics) can be ordered via the catalogue with a lending period of one week.

The cafeteria is available for group study during the refurbishment of reading room 5. Up until August 20th, the exhibition room on the ground floor remains available as a silent learning space.
