Starting November 15, the opening hours of the Departmental Law Library will change on weekends: on Saturdays and Sundays, it will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.

The University Library Erlangen-Nürnberg is introducing a new learning place and room reservation system. In addition to the reservation areas in the WSZB, TNZB, and reading room 3 of the Main Library, it is now possible to book group study areas in reading rooms 5 and 7 of the Main Library.

Thanks to the support of the Universitätsbund Erlangen-Nürnberg the University Library was able to add a work by Georg Wolfgang Knorr to its collection. The two-volume work “Delices de la Nature,” printed in Nuremberg in 1779, features 91 hand-colored copperplate engravings of birds, shells, etc.

The University Library is offering test access to all approximately 1,000 reference books and textbooks from Thieme eRef Medicine until November 30, 2025.

In the portal “Der Nürnberger Schembartlauf - digital” the unique Nuremberg carnival tradition of early humanism with its complex and multi-layered manuscript tradition is made available for further research.

The University Press of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg “FAU University Press” has been included in important international open access catalogs: the Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN) and the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB).

In the development of the single-source software OS-APS, which is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for a second term, the completion of a new software version was announced at the turn of the year.
