The Research Data Management Organizer (RDMO) is a web-based tool for researchers that allows them to create and manage data management plans (DMPs).
FAU researchers have access to templates for various research funding agencies; for example, for DMPs required for ERC or Horizon Europe grants, or the Volkswagen Foundation’s basic DMP, which can be included as part of the application.
Other templates address requirements from the DFG checklist, which must be addressed in all DFG applications. Subject-specific versions from the National Research Data Initiative (NFDI) are also available for this purpose.
Researchers can use RDMO not only to prepare DMPs for external funding agencies, but also for project-internal DMPs. RDMO enables collaborative editing and maintenance of these plans. Collaborative projects, such as SFBs, can create not only overarching plans for the entire project but also sub-plans for individual subprojects.
As a web application with FAU Single Sign-On (SSO), RDMO can be used regardless of location or system.
Application Example
To apply for an ERC grant, researchers need a DMP (to be submitted within the first 6 months of the project). To do this, you can create a project for the ERC grant in RDMO. The ERC DMP template provided in RDMO breaks down the template provided by the ERC itself into smaller thematic areas.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you can use the ERC view to format the answers according to the ERC-DMP template and export them, for example, as an RTF file. There, you can make any final adjustments.
RDMO is administered by the University Library and hosted by the RRZE.
