The University Library (UB) provides exhibition space in the main library and a meeting room in the Old University Library free of charge for university events, but there are some conditions.
The Central University Administration (ZUV), Department H, must be contacted in order to conclude a room usage agreement.
- For events outside of the property manager’s working hours (Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.), the user must ensure that an external locking service arranged by the ZUV locks the room. If the event begins or ends outside of the building’s opening hours, the user must also arrange for the building to be opened and closed. In both cases, it must be ensured that library users cannot enter the building.
If the exhibition space is used during opening hours but outside of the property manager’s working hours, the user can obtain a key to the exhibition space and lock it themselves. - Where available, the university library provides furniture, including chairs, tables and display cases.
- The University Library accepts no liability for damage to or theft of exhibits or other items belonging to users or third parties employed by them for their event/exhibition.
- The University Library does not provide supervision for exhibitions. Users are free to hire their own security personnel if they wish.
- The University Library accepts no liability for users’ items stored on its premises.
- The University Library accepts no responsibility for items left in the cloakroom.
- Both the exhibition and meeting rooms are connected to the university’s data network via Wi-Fi. To use this network, you need a login from the Regionales Rechenzentrum in Erlangen (RRZE).
- There is a permanently installed projector on the ceiling of the exhibition room that can be used. However, no projector can be provided for the meeting room. Laptops for presentations cannot be provided either.
