The Main Library building in Erlangen (Schuhstraße 1a) opened to the public on November 4, 1974, but the official grand opening did not take place until a year later, on November 4, 1975. For this reason, a full anniversary year in 2024/25 was marked with various events and activities—including a rotating exhibition on the ground floor, where we provided fascinating insights into the library’s past and present.
