In the development of the single-source software OS-APS, which is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for a second term, the completion of a new software version was announced at the turn of the year. Compared to the previous version, this release includes several significant innovations and newly developed functionalities, such as the ability to configure the front and back sections of manuscripts. A new journal template and a new template configuration have also been introduced, allowing metadata like title, author, and DOI to be stored. Additionally, a theme color for the article can be selected here.

In the advanced settings of the template configuration, users can modify article formatting, such as page margins and layout. Furthermore, it is now possible to export EPUB files. Functionalities for handling monographs are still under development.
