The University Press of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg FAU University Press has been included in important international open access catalogs: the Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN) and the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB).

OAPEN aims to promote and support the transition to Open Access for scientific monographs. To this end, it offers central, open infrastructure services for all those involved in scholarly communication.

The DOAB is a sister directory to the well-known Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and lists only high-quality, peer-reviewed academic books.

Over the course of the year, all previous and future publications of FAU University Press will be integrated into both catalogs. By being included in OAPEN and DOAB, FAU University Press is further professionalizing its open access services and making a decisive contribution to the visibility of FAU research. The indexing is also a recognition of the high scientific and publishing quality level of FAU University Press and underlines the confidence in its publication standards.
