Payment of fees and charges at the university library

At the payment terminals

At the payment terminals, fees and charges can be paid that are generated and recorded directly in the library system: Reminder fees for exceeding the loan period, interlibrary loan fees, reimbursement of expenses for library cards. Payments can thus be made during the entire opening hours of the library and are immediately recorded in the library system and any account blocks lifted.

Payment terminal sites:

  • Main Library (HB) in the Information Centre between circulation desk and information desk (Opening hours),
  • Science and Technological Branch Library, opposite the information desk (Opening hours),
  • Economic and Social Sciences Branch Library, library foyer, opposite the circulation desk (Opening hours) und
  • Educational Science Branch Library, opposite the circulation desk. (Opening hours)

FAUcards, library cards of external library users, OHMcards and guest cards of the Studentenwerk can be used as payment cards, this means all cards with the electronic purse of the Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg. Payment with credit cards, EC cards or cash is not possible at the payment terminals.

Credit can be loaded onto the cards at all card recharging terminals of the Studentenwerk. At all four locations of the payment terminals, card recharging terminals are accessible during library opening hours. All locations of the card recharging terminals with their payment options are listed on the website of the Studentenwerk.

By bank transfer

Bank transfers are used to pay fees and charges payable for special services provided by the library, such as the replacement of lost books or locking cylinders, digitisation orders and publication costs.

In some cases, reminder fees can also be paid by bank transfer in agreement with the payment office. The payment office can be contacted via online inquiry, by telephone at +49 9131 85-23955 or directly at the counter in the main library Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
