Regional catalogues

 

The University Library Erlangen-Nürnberg (UB) has a wide range of print and electronic academic literature. However, if you are unable to find the literature that you require, it is worth searching the catalogues of various other libraries in the region that specialise in different areas.

You can find a large selection of non-fiction books on training, education and work, books on hobbies and leisure, advice books, novels, children’s and young adult books, audio books, DVDs, CDs and sheet music at the public libraries in Erlangen and Nuremberg.

The library at Technische Hochschule Nürnberg (THB) specialises in technology and design, architecture, business administration and the social sciences. If you enable the THB catalogue under the “Datenbank Auswahl” tab in FAU’s catalogue, you will also be able to search in the THB catalogue.

The library at Evangelische Hochschule Nürnberg mainly offers literature that is of interest for areas of the social sciences, education and healthcare.

The library at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum is the largest public special library for German art and cultural history and focuses on art in German-speaking countries up to and including expressionism.

The library at the Institute of Modern Art in Nuremberg collects publications on contemporary international art from 1945, in particular ‘grey literature’ (brochures, flyers, invitations, press articles, posters, …) that is not available from commercial publishers.

The library at the German-American Institute in Nuremberg is the largest public English-language library in Northern Bavaria and, in addition to literature on the USA and materials for language tests, also offers a wide range of DVDs and e-books.
