The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites you visit in order to speed up your browsing experience. This article describes how to clear the cache.

Clear the cache

1. Click the menu button and select Settings.
2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
3. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data…
4. The Clear browsing data and cookies dialog will open.
5. On the dropdown next to When:, choose Everything. Make sure that only Temporary cached files and pages is checkmarked.
   For more information about managing site data, see Manage local site storage settings.
6. Click the Clear button.
7. Close the Settings page. Any changes you’ve made will automatically be saved

Here’s another way to clear the Firefox cache:

1. Click the menu button to open the menu panel
2. Click History and select Clear Recent History…
3. Next to When:, choose Everything from the drop-down menu, select Temporary cached files and pages in the items list, make sure other items you want to keep are not selected, then click the Clear button.

Automatically clear the cache

You can set Firefox to automatically clear the cache when Firefox closes:

1. Click the menu button and select Settings.
2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the History section
3. In the drop-down menu next to Firefox will, choose Use custom settings for history.
4. Select the check box for Clear history when Firefox closes
5. Click the Settings… button. The Clear browsing data and cookies dialog will open
6. Put a check mark next to Temporary cached files and pages and make sure other items you want to keep are not selected.

7. Click Save Changes to close the Clear browsing data and cookies dialog
8. Close the Settings page. Any changes you’ve made will automatically be saved.

So löschen Sie Ihre Browserdaten in Microsoft Edge:

1. Select Settings and more  > Settings  > Privacy, search, and services .
2. Select Clear browsing data, then select Choose what to clear next to Clear browsing data now.
3. Under Time range, choose a time range from the drop-down menu.
4. Choose the types of browsing data you want to clear (see the table below for descriptions).
   For example, you may want to remove browsing history and cookies but keep passwords and form fill data.
5. Select Clear now.

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, select More   Delete browsing data.
3. Select how much history you want to delete.
   • To delete everything, select All time.
4. Check the boxes for the info you want Chrome to delete, including Browsing history. Learn more about the types of browsing data you can delete.
5. Select Delete data.

Clear the browser cache in Opera:

• Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete.
• A new window will open. Select the time period “Since installation.”
• Select the following options: “Browsing history,” “Download history,” “Cookies and other website data,” “Cached images and files,” and “Third-party service data.”
• Click the “Clear browsing data” button at the bottom of the window.

Clear the browser cache in Internet Explorer 11, 10, and 9:

• Press Ctrl+Shift+Del.
• Select “Temporary Internet Files” and then click “Delete.”

Alternatively:

• Click the gear icon in the upper right corner.
• Select “Internet Options.”
• Go to the “General” tab.
• Find the “Browsing History” section and click “Delete…”
• A new window will open. Uncheck “Preserve Favorites website data” and check “Temporary Internet files” and “Cookies.”
• Finally, click “Delete.”

• Press Cmd+Alt+E.

Alternatively:

• Click “Clear History…” in the “Safari” menu.
• Select “Last Hour” or another option.
• Click the “Clear History” button.
