The 2G principle will apply at all university library locations from November 24 on. All users must prove that they are fully vaccinated or recovered when entering the libraries. The legal basis is stipulated in the Federal Disinfection Protection Act (IfSG) and the 15th Bavarian Regulation on Infection Prevention and Control Measures BayIfSMV (Section 5 (1)(1)).
Proof of 2G:

  • Complete vaccination (at least 14 days after the second vaccination) can be proven with the vaccination card, an app (CovPass app or Corona warning app) or the EU digital COVID certificate.
  • You are considered recovered if you can provide proof for recovered persons of the presence of a previous Covid19 infection confirmed by PCR test that has since cleared. The infection must have occurred at least 28 days and a maximum of six months ago.

The 2G rule will not apply to individuals who cannot get a vaccine for medical reasons. Those to whom this applies must carry the original version of a written medical certificate stating their full name and date of birth as proof, as well as a valid negative PCR test.

Exemption rules that previously applied at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, for example for international students who were vaccinated with a vaccine that was not approved in the EU, will no longer apply with immediate effect.

In the university library, it is compulsory to wear an FFP2 mask, including at the study desk.
The university library must monitor compliance with the rules. All proofs are only valid together with a photo ID.
