March 10: Reading rooms in the central libraries and 02JU open again

From Wednesday, March 10, the University Library will reopen reading rooms in compliance with the applicable hygiene guidelines. The opening is subject to the corresponding regulations by the 12th Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance (BayIfSMV).
Due to reduced funding the opening hours have to be partially reduced compared to last year.

Central Libraries and Departmental Library Law (02JU)

  • Main Library, Erlangen
    Monday to Friday: 8 am to 10 pm
    Saturday, Sunday: 10 am to 10 pm
  • Science and Technology Branch Library, Erlangen
    Monday to Friday: 8 am to 10 pm
    Saturday, Sunday: 10 am to 10 pm
  • Economic and Social Sciences Branch Library, Nuremberg
    Monday to Saturday: 8 am to 12 pm
    Sunday: 10 am to 12 pm
    All holdings with call number beginnings 13GT01 and 13GT/17 must be ordered.
  • Educational Science Branch Library, Nuremberg:
    Monday to Friday: 9 am to 8 pm
    Saturday: 9 am to 2 pm
    Media from the open access holdings (P25, P30) and the textbook collection (P80) must still be ordered.
  • Departmental Library Law (02JU), Erlangen
    Monday to Friday: 8 am to 10 pm
    Saturday, Sunday: 10 am to 10 pm

Learning places in the reading rooms

  • Learning places in the central libraries and the Departmental Library Law (02JU) must be booked again. The reservation system will be online again from Monday, March 8.
  • Copy machines, book scanner and internet workstations can be used.

Departmental libraries

Please continue to order media from some departmental libraries in the city centre and in the University’s southern campus in Erlangen via the catalogue to the central collection points. All departmental libraries are expected to be open with changed opening hours from Monday, April 12.
