University Library during Semester Break

The lecture-free period begins – the University Library is adjusting its services from Monday, August 10th. Learning places can only be booked seven days in advance via the reservation system. Long-term booked places were often cancelled or not used, therefore the University Library has decided to shorten the booking period.
Media borrowed from the holdings of the University Library can be renewed up to four times, interlibrary loan media up to three times.

Main Library

  • Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 8 pm
  • Additional learning places are designated on the ground floor and on the 2nd floor and can be booked via the reservation system
  • Seven computer workstations in the CIP pool can be booked.
  • Time slots for booking learning places: 9 am to 2 pm, 2.15 pm to 8 pm
  • Permanent lockers in the reading rooms can be used again, the keys are handed out at the lending desk.
  • The day lockers on the ground floor are accessible again.
  • The information desk moves to the reading room counter and is staffed from 9 am to 6 pm.
  • 11 computer workstations will be opened for research, download and printout (maximum 1 hour).
  • Reading Room Manuscripts, Collection of Prints and Drawings in the Old University Building: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., reservation of a place by phone (09131/8522159) or by mail.

Science and Technology Branch Library

  • Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 8 pm
  • Two computer workstations are provided for research, download, printout and access to the home directory.
  • Time slots for booking learning places: 9 am to 2.30 pm, 3 pm to 8 pm
  • Please note: The CIP pool of the Regional Computer Centre in the basement is unfortunately still closed.
  • Circulation desk for media from the Departmental Libraries Physics (09GP), Biology (10GB), Process Engineering (14GV) or Mathematics (18MI)

Economic and Social Sciences Branch Library

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 8 pm
  • Due to the limited space available, only one time slot can be booked at a time.
  • Time slots for booking learning places: 9:00 to 14:30, 15:00 to 20:00
  • One computer workstation is provided for research, download and printing (maximum 1 hour).

Educational Science Branch Library

  • Opening hours from August, 10th to August 31st: Monday to Friday 9 am to 4 pm
  • Time slots for booking learning places: 9 am to 12.30 am, 12.30 am to 4 pm
  • One computer workstation for research and download is provided (maximum 1 hour).

Departmental Library Law (02JU)

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8 am to 11.45 pm, Saturday 10 am to 9.45 pm
  • Time slots for booking learning places: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 3.30 pm, 4 pm to 11.45 pm; Saturday 10 am to 3.30 pm, 4 pm to 9.45 pm
  • Five computer workstations in the CIP pool can be reserved for research, download and printout.

Departmental Library Educational Science, Philosophy and Psychology (04PA)

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday 10 am to 3 pm
  • Central collection point for media orders in the Departmental Libraries American Studies (07AM), German Studies (07DS), English Studies (07EN), Romance Studies (07RO), Drama and Media Studies (07TH), Oriental Studies (07OR) and Japanese Studies (07JA)

Departmental Library Political Science (05PO)

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday 10 am to 3 pm
  • Central collection point for media orders in the Departmental Libraries of Sociology and Economics (05SO), Ancient History (06AG), Classical Philology (06KP), the Departmental Libraries History of the Middle Ages and Modern Times (06MI) and Bavarian and Franconian Regional History (06LG) as well as Archaeology (06AR) and Theology (all locations in the Theological Seminary building)

Library in the Institute of Sports Science and Sport (98SP)

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm
